Reasons for joining SMC:
Today’s trend towards globalization and rapidly changing business dynamics requires that industry professionals combine entrepreneural and practical skills with the latest academic findings and techniques. The DBA program at SMC offers the needed level of flexibility compatible with the agenda of any professional with a busy agenda, customized tutoring and learning adapted to one’s area of expertise and interest.
Dissertation Study:
“Marketing of Medical Devices in Europe – A Comprehensive Overview and Guide”. This guide gives an excellent overview and a unique summary of various business aspects of the medical device market in Europe. It is a very important guide for all those people, who want to market medical devices in Europe.
From a practrical standpoint, I started the writing of my thesis by drafting first of all the big picture and afterwards filling the gaps with the needed detail and research. From my experience this principle applies in business, when studying a language or refurbishing your home.
SMC Experience:
The SMC Faculty has surpassed my highest expectations because of the professors’ expertise, case based approach and, last but not least, professional, kind and prompt student inquiry follow up. The treatment I have received at least matches my excellent experience when following an Executive Development Program at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.
I recommend all students to follow the wise observations of Jim Collins’ Good-To-Great research on outperforming industry players: Being disciplined is key to success!
Coaching gurus claim that your environment cannot motivate you, but set the ground so that you motivate yourself. SMC Faculty (and Administration) has provided me with an ideal environment not only to keep on studying, but to achieve a higher degree of excellence.
All the best to each and every student in your future studies.
Dr. Carsten Becker
