Dear Fellow Students & Alumni,

Linkedin and the SMC Student Council provide great networking tools!

The SMC Student Council would like to offer you access to Linkedin, a professional networking tool to complement the Student & Alumni Online Community, of which you are already a member.

We have set up a Linkedin group exclusively for SMC alumni and students. If you’re not already a member of Linkedin, you will need to register for the site; but registration is simple, and free.

To join the group, follow these easy steps:

You will be prompted to confirm that you want to join this group. Click on yes.

You will be asked to confirm your login information.

If you are already logged in, you will be automatically redirected to the confirmation page.

If you don’t have a LinkedIn membership, and you want to benefit from the SMC Student & Alumni Group, then follow the instructions to register for LinkedIn it’s FREE, then join the SMC Student Group.

When these steps are completed, a green confirmation message appears at the top of the page to indicate that you are now part of the group. You can access the group on the lower right hand side of the homepage (it’s the SMC crest). Since we do not have everyone’s email address you may be placed in waiting/pending queue for the SMC student council to approve. These approvals will be done on a timely basis but with a few days delay.

Troubleshooting:

  • “The page tells me that I’m not on the pre-approval list”: In this case a note will be sent to the administrator, who will approve you manually.
  • “How do I know if I’m part of the group?”: Click on the Home tab once you are logged in and scroll down. You can access the group members by clicking on the SMC crest on the right hand side.

Thank you for staying connected to the SMC Student Community and helping us provide the best in management education.

Celebrating SMC Students & Alumni Everywhere!

The student council is happy to announce the nomination of two new MBA members to the student council: Stevlana Nekrosova and Somjai Muenkid. Both new members help to build out the student council within the MBA ranks and as such enable the student council to be more representative of the entire student body.

Please join me in welcoming both to the council. We look forward to their contributions in the future in helping to make the SMC student council an even more productive entity. Short biographies may be found at:

Congratulations

The SMC student council would like to congratulate Dr. Carsten Becker for having completed his course work and for having completed his defense of his dissertation at the SMC. Each time a student is successfull at achieving his or her personal goal it acts as a motivator for all students. We each have something to learn from one another and the successfull completion of the program is the perfect way of leading by doing.

Carsten Becker

Please read Dr. Carsten’s comments on the program at the following link under the “Students Speak” section of this blog.
